To Sing is to Heal - Music that Gives

Music from the Heart!

So onto some positive change in the world of Music. I have been trying to gather some beautiful music for children and music performed by children. I found these 3 Cd's while searching through CD baby's top selling Kids/Family albums. I truly love all 3 collections because of the amazing music as well as the intent behind the music. Music for a good cause always win's me over! Take a look and a listen!

WE ARE TOGETHER CD

I came across this beautiful music site http://wearetogether.org/ The CD is "Traditional Zulu songs performed by children from the AGAPE orphanage in South Africa". All the profits of the CD and film go to help children in South Africa. These children are absolutely beautiful, singing straight from their hearts! You can also buy this Cd or buy mp3 downloads from http://cdbaby.com/cd/childrenofagape. I am completely enamoured by the children's voices, and after only hearing the first song 'Baba Wethu', I placed an order for the whole CD. I am so touched by the beauty in this world, and music seems to be the perfect medium to open hearts and create awareness.

There is also:
The Innocence Mission new CD
"Now the Day is Over".

I love this CD, it is a sweet melodic and simple lullaby CD worth having in the CD player at bedtime for any age.
"Gorgeous and dreamy, this new offering from the innocence mission collects standards and traditional songs that singer Karen Peris has sung to her children as lullabies since they were born. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to organizations working to aid impoverished children throughout Africa." CdBaby.com

"After hearing Bono speak this past May at my brother's college graduation about the plight of orphaned children in South Africa, our plans to make another benefit record were strengthened and propelled and we worked more quickly and spontaneously than usual. We recorded most of the songs over a three week period this summer, late at night, and it was really great fun. A lot of the singing was done live to Don's guitar playing. The spaciousness of the arrangements allowed for piano and pump organ and Mike's upright bass, " says Karen Peris.

AMANI -
Songs of Peace
for the Children of Kilimanjaro Cd

"Irresistible rhythms and soul-searing melodies and harmonies revealing the link between the heart and soul of African traditional music and the roots and guts of American music from jazz to gospel, rock and blues; proceeds go to Amani Orphanage, Tanzania."
